Belonging to God means that Jesus Christ is the savior, Lord, and treasure of your life. Sin is the spiritual condition we are all born into which keeps us from glorifying or enjoying God. The Bible teaches us that God sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty of sin by dying in our place on the cross. He rose from the dead three days later to demonstrate His power over sin and death. When we repent from sin and self-rule and put our faith in Christ and His rule then we become children of God now and forever. As a result we should connect to a local church in to grow in God's Word, serve and give as God leads, and worship the Lord with fellow believers.
If you desire to covenant with Memorial Baptist as your church family we would eagerly receive you. You can join through one of four ways:
-
By profession of faith and baptism,
-
By transfer of membership from a sister Baptist church,
-
By baptism from another denomination, or
-
By statement of faith and past baptism.
You may respond to any of the above during the invitation at the close of each worship service or by contacting the church office- (409) 983-5654. The pastor will schedule a time to meet with you so that he may recommend you for membership at the next bi-monthly Church Conference. For more information regarding the responsibilities of membership see the Four Pillars.
